I just want to share my experience. It may or may not help you.
I got 9 months and severed 4.5 months, with a mix of prison and home detention. Around 10 years later I moved to Australia with my husband. I did not apply for a visa, as I have traveled to a lot of countries without disclosing my conviction since I got it and was granted the Special Category Visa (SCV) like everyone else. However, I work from home for my husband's company so don't know if you will get into trouble when you go for a job, but it will probably be between you and the employer not the Australian Government. I do not want to encourage you not to disclose your conviction like I did. I just wanted to share my experience. As it is a really scary decision you need to make and the outcome can change your life. Good luck! Write comment
